Hi there, Doc here... The situation that you describe on the early EFI "Z," can be tested by further diagnosis. First of all, the fuel pump relay is located under the dash, on the driver's side, next to the steering column, closest to the outside of the car.You need to remove the front rubber boot, that goes to the air flow meter. Turn the key on, and then push the flap from the front side of the air flow meter toward the rear. This should engage the contacts, and the fuel pump should run. If it doesn't, then you may want to check and see if the harness is plugged into the bottom side of the air flow meter. The EFI/Fuel pump relay is a combination type that has two plugs going to it. The original '75 280Z used Bosch parts for all of the components. I do not have the entire wiring harness service manual before me at this time, but it is at the shop. If it is necessary to go over the voltage tests, you can call me at the shop:

Your local Datsun/Nissan Parts Department should be able to help you on the current price. There are some after market parts companies that may have the relay like a Standard Ignition dealer in your area. Buy a reputable part name if you want quality, since the cheap unit may work for a while and let you down at the wrong time, Murphy's Law!

HI Zdoc,
Have a '75Z, no fuel around injector manifold, and no sound from pump. I checked with a test meter, for voltage at the pump with the key on, nothing.
Could this be the pump, or a fuel relay, and if so, where is the relay located and about how much?
